How Can Young Women and Young Men Work Together to Help Build God’s Kingdom?

Matthew 13; Luke 8; 13

With a series of parables found in Matthew 13, the Savior taught important truths about God’s kingdom and its remarkable growth in our day. In two of these parables, something small and simple resulted in something great. And it was the actions of a son or daughter of God that helped the miracle happen. A tiny mustard seed grew into a tree large enough for birds to “lodge in the branches” when “a man took, and sowed [it] in his field” (Matthew 13:31–32). And a small amount of leaven caused a large amount of dough to rise when “a woman took, and hid [it] in three measures of meal” (Matthew 13:33). God’s kingdom in our day grows and spreads because His Saints—including young women and young men—work together with Him to build it.

In addition to reading Matthew 13 and Luke 8; 13 this week, consider reading President M. Russell Ballard’s message “Men and Women in the Work of the Lord” (New Era, Apr. 2014, 2–5) and President Jean B. Bingham’s message “United in Accomplishing God’s Work” (Ensign or Liahona, May 2020, 60–63).
